At first I thought this was ridiculous, but then I thought, I don't put anything past this person. The Obama administration is considering new environmental rules that would, in effect ban recreational fishing in the United States, according to ESPN. This move is apparently being contemplated under pressure from environmental groups. "The Obama administration will accept no more public input for a federal strategy that could prohibit U.S. citizens from fishing the nation's oceans, coastal areas, Great Lakes, and even inland waters. Wildlife preservation organizations are the ones mounting this attack on fishing, it has already been successful with hunting in Canada. My question are "We the People " going to put up with this infringement on freedom. By the way I don't fish, but that's not the point. |

No. He wouldn't do that. He can't because so many people would go against him. That would be bad for him. My opinion though. |

Do a search on ocean policy task force, then search marine spatial planning on the UNSECO website and read all you can concerning this matter. |

What you're hearing of is a quota on the amount of fishing or a ban on fishing in certain areas. This is about fishing on a commercial scale, recreational fishing is hardly affected. Implementing such quotas and bans can save endangered species of fish and is good for the marine wildlife. Fishermen, of course, are generally less happy depending on where they fish. |

A ban is being considered, yes. Will it ever go into effect? I hope not. You can talk about taking away guns, but forcing people to stop fishing and you will have one heck a monster group of angry people. Read about Cass Sunstein, the regulatory Czar. This guy has some, for lack of a better word, stupid ideas. |
